About The Show
Help Is On The Way is the story of the Kiwi ingenuity and bravery that resulted in 36 people being rescued from the upper floors of the 26-storey Hotel Grand Chancellor.

The building was seriously damaged by the magnitude 6.3 earthquake and the stairwell from level 22 to level 14 was destroyed, trapping all the guests from the upper floors of the building. Help Is On The Way tells this dramatic rescue story, with first-hand accounts from the construction workers, the police working on the ground, and the men from Smith Cranes, who aided them.

The documentary also features interviews with guests and staff members trapped in the crumbling hotel. Help Is On The Way is a follow-up documentary to the web series Finding Jeremy, which also featured Andy and Amber Cleverley.
